Tools for Self Reliance (TFSR)
The Cambridge branch of Tools for Self Reliance in part of a network of voluntary groups throughout Britain who collect and refurbish tools. TFSR sends refurbished hand tools to workshops in some of the world’s poorest countries. This is practical help to practical people in communities where good quality tools are scarce and expensive. These tools have a significant impact on poverty and unemployment in Africa.
Mackays is now a collection point for hand tools to be sent to TFSR for refurbishment.
The charity needs mostly the following types of tools:
- Woodworking
- Blacksmithing
- Building and Plumbing
- Shoemaking and leather working
- Car and bicycle repairing
- Metal working and Tinsmithing
Just bring your unwanted tools to our East Road store. Unfortunately we are not able to collect these tools.
