Bostitch Pt28r50fc 2.80 X 50mm Plain Ring Shank 33 Nails & Fuel (2200)
PT Series Ring Shank Clipped Head 33 Nails & Fuel.
Ring shank nails have a series of rings punched into the surfaceof the shank. A difference in the diameter of the shank isproduced making it even more difficult to withdraw the nail. Ringshank nails have to be produced at lower speeds and their cost isgenerally higher than for a smooth shank nail. The air consumptionper nail is also higher, and the energy required to drive thesenails into hard wood is very much greater.
Plain finish is without any form of protection and is the mosteconomical choice, but the nails will start to rust before nailsthat have a protective treatment. Used in applications where noprotection is required, for example a one way disposal pallet.
Galvanised Nails. Galvanising, or coating with Zinc, is the bestway to prevent nails from corroding. The zinc does not protect thesteel of the nail, but is corroded first. The thicker the zinccoating, the longer it will be before the nail is attacked. Thethickest coating is called hot dipped and is applied by dipping thenails into a bath of molten zinc.
Finish: Stainless Steel
Stainless Steel nails are used when other finishes are notsufficient and need the maximum protection we can offer. Forexample: stainless steel nails are ideal motorway fencing where afasteners life is very important or in applications which areexposed to salt water.
Paper Tape Collated Stick Nails, this type of collation is idealin construction environments where work can be kept free ofcollation debris. Paper tape nails traditionally have a clippedhead to allow the shanks of the nails to touch each other when theyare collated. In this way it is possible to fit more nails on astick.
