Swords and Sorcery is the seventh title in the popular fantasycomics series. Similar to those books, it briefly outlines thehistory of this genre. Baugh provides an overview of successfulfantasy adventure comics and the artists who drew them, mostnoteworthy of which are Frank Frazetta and Barry Winsor-Smith. Thebook then goes on to provide step-by-step instruction on how todraw the various characters and creatures found in these imaginaryrealms, with the underlying anatomy of a warrior to the underlyingmythology of today's stories. The characters fall into 3 standardtypes: 1- Heroic types: knights in armour, wizards, warriormaidens, great kings, magical princesses. 2-The evil variety: thedark sorcerers, the orcs (or orks) and trolls and black knights. 3-Fantastical creatures and mythical beasts: the unicorns, dragons, giants, goblins, ogres and demons that fantasy fans just can't getenough of!
